AiresDocs vs DocuSign

DocuSign is the biggest name in agreements and a broad enterprise platform. AiresDocs is built for small businesses that send the same agreements every week and are tired of per-user pricing, envelope caps and bonuses that run out. Here is where they overlap and where they do not, with DocuSign's own published figures.

DocuSign facts read from its UK pricing page and features page on 9 October 2026; everything else from AiresDocs's own documentation.

Summary

  • Choose AiresDocs if you send from a handful to a few hundred agreements a month, want unlimited sending at a flat price for one person or a team of up to 10, and care about a sealed file, a readable certificate and a public verification page.
  • Choose DocuSign if you need contract lifecycle management, qualified electronic signatures, single sign-on, FedRAMP or HIPAA attestations, 44 signing languages, notarisation, Salesforce document generation, or a platform your larger customers ask for by name.
  • Both let signers sign on any device without an account, both offer templates, bulk send, web forms or contract links, approvers, SMS and ID checks, an API and webhooks, and both provide simple electronic signatures rather than qualified ones on their standard plans.

Prices and limits

The DocuSign figures are the published UK list prices on DocuSign's eSignature plans and pricing page as of 9 October 2026, in pounds, billed annually. They change from time to time.

Published list prices, checked 9 October 2026
PlanPriceSending limit (vendor's wording)
AiresDocs Free£03 contracts per month
AiresDocs Pro£12/month or £99/year, one personUnlimited contracts
AiresDocs Team£29/month or £249/year, up to 10 peopleUnlimited contracts
DocuSign Personal£8/month, £96 billed annually, single user"Send 5 envelopes for signature each month"

DocuSign Business Pro£33/month per user, £396 billed annually"Send a total of 100 envelopes per user per year"

Worked examples. A letting agent with three staff sending 30 tenancy packs a month would use 360 envelopes a year against Standard's 300 (100 per user), at £720 a year; on AiresDocs Team the same people send without a cap for £249 a year. A freelancer sending two agreements a month fits both DocuSign Personal (£96 a year) and AiresDocs Free (£0). A recruiter sending 15 offers a month exceeds Personal's five and would need Standard at £240 a year; AiresDocs Pro is £99.

Evidence and legality

Both products produce an electronic signature within the meaning of UK, US and EU law and attach a record of how it was made. DocuSign's UK page describes its plans as obtaining "Simple Electronic Signatures (S.E.S.)". AiresDocs's signatures are also simple electronic signatures, with an advanced-style evidence package: a tamper-evident digital seal on the finished file, SHA-256 fingerprints of the original and final files, an append-only event log with timestamps, time zones, IP addresses and browsers, the identity method used for each signer, the consent wording version, and a public verification page. Neither product's standard plans provide a qualified electronic signature. For the law, read when electronic signatures are binding; for what a certificate proves, audit trails explained.

Which should you choose?

If your need is "get these agreements signed by these people, keep proof, and stop paying per seat and per envelope", AiresDocs is cheaper, simpler and more predictable, and now covers the features small businesses actually use: templates, bulk send, contract links, approvers, SMS and ID checks, branding, an API. If your need includes contract lifecycle management, qualified signatures, SSO, regulated-industry attestations, 44 languages or a procurement team that asks for DocuSign by name, DocuSign is the right tool and the extra cost buys those things. Both have a free way in; many small businesses try each with a real agreement and see which fits the week's work.

Questions

Is AiresDocs a replacement for DocuSign?

For preparing, sending, signing and keeping proof of everyday business agreements, including templates, bulk send, contract links, approvers, SMS and ID checks, an API and webhooks: yes, and at a flat price. For contract lifecycle management, notarisation, single sign-on, FedRAMP or HIPAA attestations, Salesforce document generation, WhatsApp delivery or qualified electronic signatures: no. Those are DocuSign's enterprise territory and we say so on the product page.

Are DocuSign signatures "more legal"?

Both provide electronic signatures with an audit trail. DocuSign's UK pricing page describes its plans as obtaining "Simple Electronic Signatures (S.E.S.)". AiresDocs provides the same category with a sealed, tamper-evident file, a certificate recording the identity method used for each signer, and a public verification page. Neither product's standard plans are qualified electronic signatures. The legal effect depends on the law and the document, not the vendor; see when electronic signatures are binding.

How does cancelling compare?

AiresDocs: one click in Settings → Billing, which opens the Stripe billing portal; the plan runs to the end of the paid period and then drops to Free. We have not tested DocuSign's cancellation process ourselves and do not describe it; its terms are on its website.

Can I move templates from DocuSign?

There is no import tool. Rebuild each template by uploading the agreement and placing fields, or let AiresDocs detect the form fields; anchors to text make later revisions quick. Agreements already completed in DocuSign remain valid and should be kept in your own records.
